Just testet the demo, and what progress.
Just need to understand the relation between eg Chefs and recipes , how is that done, do the user do it by them self or do is it done by the user ID when making new article like recipes.
I have af need for not some fields, and field groups, and an uncomplicated way to post an article. Do you know af good form tool there support article fields and tags etc.

With EasyLayouts you can create custom 'article creation' forms that a different for each contents type so that the input form would look quite different for chefs and recipes - different tabs, different fields, different labels. different instructions etc.
We can help you get started with different input forms which you can then customise to your heart's content
The input type could depend on the menu item i.e. Add recipe from the recipes page etc. Could also be driven by permissions
Contact forms can be done (and customised) if the user is linked to a joomla contact. Probably could be automatically created.
Should be doable - test thing to do is try it out. If it doesn't work for you as you want then you can request a refund
